The Yilan County Muslim-Friendly Environment Guidance Program promoted by Yilan County Government since 2017 has helped local businesses significantly enhance the number and quality of Muslim-friendly hospitality services in the county. This morning (November 24th), the 2025 Yilan County Muslim-Friendly Environment Achievements Presentation was held at the Shangri-La Dongshan River Resort Hotel. Attended by certified businesses and tourism association representatives, the event celebrated ongoing progress in fostering a Muslim-friendly tourism environment in Yilan County.
The 10 new businesses receiving Muslim-friendly certification at this year’s event include lodging, dining services, and experience activity providers, underscoring the strong momentum in improving overall service capabilities in the county. Yilan County’s 55 certified businesses and 68 certification awards to date rank it second nationwide (after Taipei City) and reflect local businesses’ commitment to, and proactive investment in, Muslim-friendly tourism. Furthermore, convenient and quick access by train, intercity bus, or private car from Taipei City to Yilan makes it easy for Muslim visitors to explore and enjoy the county’s rich natural landscapes and leisure offerings.
With Muslim travelers representing one of the world’s fastest-growing travel market segments, Yilan County Government is actively guiding the build-out of Muslim-friendly environments, helping businesses improve their hospitality offerings, and raising Yilan’s profile and competitiveness as an international tourism destination. With mountains meeting the sea, deep cultural traditions, and distinctive industries, Yilan aims to ensure visitors not only experience the county’s beauty but also enjoy a service experience that is both friendly and inclusive.
In addition to encouraging more businesses to earn Muslim-friendly certification, county plans for 2026 include organizing informative workshops and training courses, establishing an Yilan County Muslim-Friendly Tourism Database, and launching the Promotional Gift Campaign for Muslim Travelers to Yilan. These initiatives are expected to further enhance the service capacity and visibility of local businesses as well as drive forward the overall development of Muslim-friendly tourism in the county. Long-running cooperation between Yilan County agencies and businesses is delivering a bountiful harvest, with a friendly, internationally focused tourism environment invigorated by the spirit of diversity and inclusion.
