Detail

Participants are invited to choose ONE of three ceramic hand-building methods, and an instructor will provide guidance and assistance throughout the session.

Option 1|Tableware – Hollowing Technique

Shape the solid clay by hollowing it out from the inside and thinning it evenly to create functional tableware.

  • Thin the clay to a thickness of about 0.5 cm
  • Form a cup, bowl, plate, or other tableware item of choice
  • Add surface decorations or imprints

The focus of this method: balance, thickness control, and usability.

Option 2|Openwork Vessels – Coil-Building Technique

Build a ceramic form using stacked layers of clay coils.

  • Press a clay slab to form the base
  • Stack coils of clay one atop another to build height and structure
  • Adjust coil thickness and spacing to create different forms

The focus of this method: structure, rhythm, and creative freedom.

Option 3|Decorative Forms – Geometric Design Application

Create decorative ceramic pieces using geometric concepts.

  • Divide clay into equal portions
  • Complete the main form first
  • Add geometric, floral, or abstract decorative elements

The focus of this method: creative expression and sculptural design.
